Lab testing equipment
With our wide range of lab testing equipment we provide solutions for the early stages in the development processes as well as for quality control in commercial manufacturing. Being able to transfer the test method from R&D to production reduces risks and saves time.
Headspace Analyzer NEO HSX
The NEO HSX series is our latest laboratory test system for Headspace Analysis of small volume parenterals (SVP). Equipped with the latest laser generation, it allows more applications thanks to lower standard deviation.
The world's first Headspace Anlayzer NEO HSX DUO is equipped with two different laserheads while the NEO HSX ONE has integrated one laserhead.
The NEO HSX is a system for the non-destructive measurement of gas concentrations such as oxygen and carbon dioxide in the headspace using laser absorption spectroscopy. The oxygen analyzer and carbon dioxide analyzer can test vials, syringes and ampoules or other packaging used for sterile pharmaceuticals. NEO stands for our new generation of compact inspection systems bringing sensitivity, usability and flexibility to the next level.

Choose between Headspace Analyzer with one or two integrated lasers
NEO HSX ONE
is a desktop Headspace Gas Analyzer equipped with either a O2 or CO2 laser. Vials from 1 - 100 ml, ampoules from 1 - 20 ml or syringes from 0.5 - 10 ml can be inspected manually or robot supported.
NEO HSX DUO
is a desktop Headspace Gas Analyzer equipped with a O2 and CO2 laser for simultanious measurement. Vials from 1 - 100 ml, ampoules from 1 - 20 ml or syringes from 0.5 - 10 ml can be inspected manually or robot supported.
4th generation HSA test system
The new laser generation achieves a 50% lower standard deviation, which enables more accurate and faster processes and thus new applications. Due to the short measurement times, a transfer of the test method to a corresponding high-speed production line is even easier. Various lasers are available for the non-destructive measurement of O2 and CO2 concentrations. These enable leak tests, media fill inspections or residual oxygen measurements for a wide variety of pharmaceutical packaging. The NEO HSX DUO is equipped with two lasers for O2 and CO2 measurements simultaneously.
Supported operator guidance
The WILCO user interface MAVIS supports the user during operation. Similar to a smartphone, the user can use widgets to display personalized content on the 12.1" color display. The operator is guided step-by-step through the menu for both inspection and format change. A LED bar provides visual orientation on the process step. The operator guidance ensures consistent and user-independent testing.
High process reliability
Different sample holders are available for the different applications, which verify the settings previously defined by means of the position monitoring system. The system has two modes: a development mode for the definition of recipes and less critical measurements, and a mode for measurements in the GMP area for the highest safety requirements.

Inherent CCIT
Headspace analysis (HSA) as a method for leak detection is based on the detection of gas concentration changes in the packaging. The Bombing Station allows a controlled conditioning (overpressure or negative pressure) of the environment of a test sample with compressed air, carbon dioxide or further gases. The gas exchange within a test sample without modified headspace happens within a short period of time.
Acceleration of gas ingress
Shortening of waiting times for gas concentration change in the headspace
Sensitive
Detection of leak rates down to 6,6 * 10-6 mbar * l/s (equivalent to a leak size of 0,1 µm) in NEO HSX headspace analyzer possible
Intuitive
Easy operation through WILCO standard HMI MAVIS
Robust
Robust, compact and mobile design for use in the laboratory or in production
Bombing as a method to accelerate air ingress
Headspace Analysis (HSA) as a test method for leak testing is based on the detection of a certain trace gas in the headspace of the test object. The Bombing method patented by WILCO allows the gas concentration to change in the event of a leak in the shortest possible time – even for test samples without vacuum in the headspace. This enables the HSA Method to be used for many applications such as:
- For leaks in headspace and in product area
- Shelf for bombing of multiple containers parallel
- Inserts for dry ice to simulate deep cold storage conditions
- Pressure profiles for simulation of transport condition, storage over shelf life and as alternative to dye ingress testing
Features
- Programmable pressure profiles (max. 12 pressure changes)
- Extraction for rapid, controlled venting of the chamber
- Regulator for limiting the flow of process gas
- Pressure reducer to limit the pressure of the process gas or compressed air
- Stainless steel pressure vessel with integrated monitoring window
- Integrated pressure gauge for manual pressure control
- Exhaust for venting the chamber and the process gas (e.g. CO2)
- Flange for connection of auxiliary devices (e.g. heating, cooling, electrical feedthrough for camera)
- Area for placing a NEO HSX Headspace Analyzer
